Khabarovsk city tours

For services in Khabarovsk prices are given on request.

Khabarovsk is located 30 km from the Chinese border, at the confluence of the Amur and Ussuri Rivers, about 800 kilometers north of Vladivostok. It is the second largest city in the Russian Far East, after Vladivostok, its population numbers are very close to those of Vladivostok (about 600.000 inhabitants).
In 1858, the area was ceded to Russia under the Treaty of Aigun. The Russians settlers founded the military outpost of Khabarovka (named after a Russian explorer Yerofey Khabarov) which later blossomed into an important industrial and cultural center of the region.

In 1894, a department of Russian Geographical Society was created in Khabarovsk and launched the foundation of libraries, theatres, and museums. Since then, Khabarovsk’s cultural life has flourished. Much of the local indigenous history has been well preserved in the Regional Lore Museum and Natural History Museum and in places like near the Nanai settlement of Sikhachi-Alyan, where the world famous cliff drawings (also known as petroglyphs) from more than 13,000 years ago can be found. The Khabarovsk Art Museum exhibits on the regular basis a rare collection of old Russian icons.

In 1916, a bridge across the Amur river was built, allowing Trans-Siberian trains to cross the river and in 2009 the old bridge was renovated allowing the cars to cross it as well.
